New Rider Program
Our New Rider Program is unique to LTS and offers participants an opportunity to learn horsemanship skills as well as learn the fundamentals of horseback riding. Participants must be 4 years or older but there is no such thing as “too old” to learn to ride. We have kids, teenagers and adults as part of our program year-round!
Our New Rider Program is a 4-week program consisting of 4-weekly small group lessons and horsemanship. This program teaches new riders how to brush and tack up their horse/pony before the lesson with their instructor, the basics of horseback riding and proper care of the horse following each lesson.
Each week, riders will be in the barn with their instructor learning how to brush and tack up properly. Followed by a small group riding lesson (maximum 6 riders) where riders will work to learn how to ride independently by the end of the -week session. Following the lesson, participants will learn how to untack their horse/pony and put their horse away properly.
Once riders have completed this program (minimum of 8 sessions) they are ready to transition into our regular group lessons.
Please see required equipment down below in "Important Information". Please note ALL REGISTRATION for the New Rider Program is done online.
